I placed a call this morning around 8am to Dawn Heat & Air to schedule a service visit for an HVAC system that wasn't working properly. Regina was polite and professional, and got me scheduled for a 9-9:30am appointment that same day. I had scheduled service with another company a few days prior, and they were a no-call, no-show — so I really appreciated how quickly DHA was able to accommodate me.
Brian arrived on time and was just as cordial and professional. I explained the issues, and he performed a full inspection of the condenser, air handler, coils, and venting ducts. He clearly explained what was wrong and walked me through a few options to correct the problem, without ever being pushy or trying to oversell anything. He scheduled another technician to come out and provide a more detailed estimate for the repairs.
This was my first time using DHA, and I could tell right away that it's an honest company — one that's focused on taking care of the customer's needs first, not just making a profit. I would definitely recommend their services.

Last Thursday one of our AC units quit working. Our regular AC company was booked for 2 weeks. Friends of ours referred us to Dowd. They were able to come out the next day and the service representative (LT) was able to diagnose and get our unit going again for a minimal cost. That's an important detail, because some companies might have tried to fabricate what the problem was. We definitely would trust and use them again for our service needs.

Incredibly disappointed at my booking process. My two stars go to the very helpful receptionist, but other than her, the company’s inability to contact the technician when he is an hour and a half late and then arguing with me that he is “right around the corner” is disingenuous, at best. When you’re having A/C issues on a 90 degree day, the last thing you need is to be double booked or guilted.

Brian, was on time and once introduced. Went straight to work. There was a rest button that was tripped. And although the unit came on, Brian investigated to find the reason it was tripped. The fan unit was really hot after only a few minutes of being on. This was the problem so we opted to replace it. Brian, had a new unit on his truck, replaced the old unit with the new one and put everything back together she started right up. Thank you Brian!!! Great job.

*** Update - Spoke w/ Dowd about this. They had a technical issue with their phone system that was out of their control, but its been fixed now. I can confidently say they want to make sure their customers have a good experience. ***
In June 2025 our main a/c system wasnt cooling and I found a leak in copper brazed connection. Called Dowd and a technician came out and rebrazed the fitting. Said it was fixed. He never tested it (pump down the unit, dry nitrogen, pull vacuum, etc...). Hindsight, I should pushed him to test it, but I trusted the tech at the time that he said he "fixed" it. Fast forward to March 2026, turn on the a/c for the first time and the thing isnt cooling again. I checked the copper fitting that was fixed last year and it was leaking (again). Called Dowd and left message on a Friday (3/20/26). No call back until Monday (3/23/26). I realize this was a weekend but no call back until Monday over a 95 degree weekend and this was our main a/c unit. The unit wasnt cooling at all. I had to call another company to fix it.

My package unit was getting older (22 years old) and I new it was at it's life expectancy. I was referred to Dowd Heat & Air by an acquaintance that works in the Refrigeration business and he recommended the Dowd Company.
Mr Dowd came by, looked at what I needed, and gave me a quote.
I also checked with some of the other local companies for comparison. Some were cheaper and some were higher.
I have learned in life that the cheapest deal isn't always the best deal. I went with the Dowd Company and the install went very well. Mr Dowd recommended a Rheem brand package replacementl, a major well known brand, and it seems to be working well.
I am looking forward to seeing how the unit performs during the summer months.

Dowd didn't check the A/C in back just changed the filter in the unit. Said he couldn't check the A/C until spring. Trying to find out how much more it cost to check the A/C in the back in the fall or winter? The cost to change the filter only was $191.00. I picked this company because they advertise no pressure into a contract. But I guess the way they make that profit up is by only checking the heater in the winter and the A/C in the summer. Here's the reply. Last year Air Assurance checked my A/C in January. They could still check the A/C, it's cold, and change the filter. So much for no contract and you need refrigerant for both heat and air to work so I am skeptical of the 65 degree thing. It's in the 50's today. Oh and get this. My husband asked how much to clean the ducts, guy looks up at the ceiling and goes, no you don't need that done. 😏

Laurie, Air Conditioners are checked in the Spring/Summer. It's to cold to check the Freon. It has to be above 65 degrees. But to check it then it's $109. Your filter will net need to be changed then. We do have Service Agreements, coding $185 a year. It includes Fall/Winter Maintenance and Spring/Summer Maintenance. But you receive 10% discounts on service calls, parts and labor. You would get 10% off your filter. That plan is the most economical and you are set up for an annual maintenance. If you want this. Monday I can change your call today to an Annual Maintenance and invoice you for the difference. We do appreciate your business. Happy Holidays. Billie😏

Dowd responded same day I called. Actually worked me in after hours. The problem turned out to be a faulty blower motor which was still under warranty. The next day Dowd came out and installed the new motor (working me in after hours again). We are extremely pleased with the professional service received from Dowd and their willingness to get our problem fixed as quickly as possible. While working on my furnace, I also asked if he could go ahead and perform the fall check out of the furnace which he was happy to do.

2025 has been a disaster for my HVAC. In March I had a company through a warranty company come out and told me the unit was fixed, didn't work properly. The warranty company then sent another company out to "fix" it and they came out 3 times said nothing is wrong with it and they can't do anything to help the unit trying to "keep up." I then decided to go outside the warranty company to see if I could get someone to give me straight answers. July 11th I called Dowd heat and air not only did they not say they are too busy to make it out they were very empathetic with the situation 95degrees in my house and was out to my house in less than 5 hours. Low and behold the unit was able to be fixed and is working great.
Professionalism was outstanding.
Efficiency was above expectations.
Service you cannot get any better.

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend these guys. We had scheduled an appointment with another well known HVAC/plumbing company in the Tulsa areas. They came out and assessed our unit. Said needed 3 lbs of Freon. Okay no problem. Until they said it was $287/lb. Excuse me? $900 for 3 lbs! Nope.
We immediately called Howd! Told them about the situation and our quoted from price. Took general information and while booking got a text they would be there in about an hour!! What!! Yes that’s right. Regina was great.
Then fun part. Terry comes out. Assesses the unit. Says same thing other company said. Okay. It needs almost 3 lbs. Perfect. Expected that. What I didn’t expect. The kicker!!!! It’s $5/oz? Yes that’s right. $80/lb. Not $287.
So while filling and testing one unit decided to clean the coils. On both unit!! That’s right!! ABOVE AND BEYOND!! WAYYYY BEYOND! UNEXPECTED!!! No one does that anymore. But this company did!! Cleaned both units coils. Checked and cleaned drain and filled 3 lbs.
The PART BEST FOR ME. All this was ONLY $319! TOTAL!! OUTSTANDING!! Thank you!! Thank you!!

This is the best HVAC company I have found. They found 2 burned wires on 1 A/C unit that the other HVAC company didn't tighten the screw down when installed new. The other unit was 3 pounds low of freon & again the other HVAC company didn't fill it up when installed new. Was told pricing would be discussed BEFORE work to begin. Arrived 1 1/2 hours early and began work before I arrived. Informed them it was a bad fan motor on condenser during scheduling. Paid an unnecessary diagnostic fee and was going to be charged 1.5 hours of labor as they didn't bring the part and had to get it. Paid fee and cancelled service. Called to complain as they said pricing was to be discussed beforehand and it was not. They could have brought part as this was warranty work on a 3 year old system. I would NOT recommend.

He even told us helpful things we could do to keep things in working order. You don't find many honest companies anymore and we really appreciate that he addressed the issue and didn't try to sale us stuff we didn't need. Definitely recommend this company

Had to replace my entire heating and air system due to a lightning strike. They were very helpful in providing me a quote and assessment to give to my insurance company. When it came time to do the work, the techs they sent out were great. They were also cautious coming in and out to not let my cats get out. The new indoor and outdoor units are running great. Got me all squared away just before the summer heat rolls in. Give that guy Casey a raise and 10 months paid vacation.

Dowd Heat and Air serviced my air conditioning unit by appointment. Serviceman was punctual, very knowledgeable, and worked making efficient use of time. He answered all questions that I asked and made some recommendations to assist in maintenance schedules. So, my last HVAC unit betrayed me and expired after only 32 years of service.
I called my trusty HVAC guy, but he's retired on me. He said he'd worked for Dowd for 7 years before he went out on his own, and he could vouch for them. That was good enough for me.
I called them in the middle of the afternoon, they had a guy out first thing the next morning. After he pronounced my old HVAC dead, they had an estimate to me in a few hours. I Googled the unit they specced and found their estimate to be slightly below average.
I called my retired HVAC guy who said it was a fair price.
I called Terry and discussed the install. He said he'd throw in a couple of small repairs that needed to be made to the existing drain lines on the evaporator and seal off where the electrical and refrigerant lines run under the house and a new pan for the condenser and slab for the unit.
Two of his guys came out the next day and installed the unit. They were friendly, the work was very professionally done, they cleaned everything up after they finished and they didn't get too upset when my dog chased them up the tree.
I'm very pleased and recommend them highly.
