Your furnace runs but the air coming out is lukewarm or cold, or it won't come on at all. Common causes: a failed igniter, flame sensor, blower motor or thermostat.

A sudden jump in your heating bill often means your system is working harder than it should. On a heat pump, it can mean the backup heat is doing all the work.

No Heat in Your House?
Some no-heat calls are a two-minute fix you can do yourself. Run through this list, and if the heat still won't come on, call us.
Thermostat. Make sure it's set to Heat and a few degrees above room temperature. A blank screen usually means dead batteries.
Power. Check the breaker for the furnace or air handler, and the furnace power switch near the unit. It looks like a light switch and is easy to bump off.
Air filter. A clogged filter can overheat the furnace and trip a safety switch that shuts the burners off. Swap it if it's dirty.
Furnace door. The front panel has a safety switch. If the panel isn't seated tight, the furnace won't run.
Gas valve. On a gas furnace, the handle on the gas line should run parallel to the pipe.
Smell gas? Don't touch switches or the thermostat. Leave the house and call your gas company or 911 from outside.
Call or send the form. Complete no-heat calls go to the front of the line, and same-day repair is often possible during our hours, Mon-Fri 8am-7pm and Sat 8am-5pm. If your heat goes out outside those hours, call and you'll be first on the schedule when we open.

Heat Pump Repair in Tulsa
A heat pump heats your Tulsa home from fall through spring, so a problem shows up fast. These are the four heat pump calls we get most, with what's normal and what needs a tech.
Heat pump air feels warm, not hot, so lukewarm air at the vent can be normal. Cold air while the thermostat is calling for heat points to a stuck reversing valve, low refrigerant, or a failed outdoor fan or compressor.
A few minutes of defrost, with steam rising off the outdoor unit, is normal in cold, wet weather. If it stays in defrost, defrosts over and over, or never defrosts at all, the defrost control board or sensor is usually the cause.
Backup heat should help on the coldest days, not run all day. If AUX or EM HEAT stays lit, the heat pump isn't carrying its share and your electric bill will show it. Low refrigerant, an outdoor unit problem or a thermostat setup issue are the usual causes.
Light frost is normal. A solid sheet of ice on the coil or the top of the unit is not: think failed defrost control, low refrigerant, a stuck fan motor, or gutter water dripping onto the unit. Switch the thermostat to emergency heat and call us.

Cold air while the thermostat is calling for heat usually means the unit is in a defrost cycle, the reversing valve is stuck, the refrigerant is low, or the outdoor fan or compressor has failed. If it lasts more than a few minutes, call us.
A light frost on the outdoor coil is normal in cold, damp weather, and the unit clears it with a short defrost cycle. A thick block of ice on the coil or the top of the unit is not normal. Switch the thermostat to emergency heat and call us so the outdoor unit isn't damaged.
